10 STRATERGIES TO PROMOTE YOUR BLOG : BEGINNERS GUIDE



Initially Blogging was used as a platform to share a person’s thoughts, feelings, opinions or experiences – an online journal or diary with a minimal following. Today it has grown into a platform used by millions; It reaches from individuals to businesses. In my opinion every business should have a blog. Actually blogging is the single most effective way to consistently drive traffic for free. That’s because good blog content can drive traffic from search engines, social shares, and references from other websites.

 A study done by Hubspot mentioned that:

“Companies that published 16+ blog posts per month got almost 3.5X more traffic than companies that published between 0 - 4 monthly posts.”

 

“Great Content is Key to success as per as blogging is concern. It’s not enough to just publish a blog post. It needs to be awesome. There are three ways to make your content Unique.”


  • Cover something completely new.

  • Do a better job covering your topic than anyone else.

  • Cover an existing topic in a new way.

However even you have awesome content blog promotion is very important to drive traffic to your blog. So here is some basic blog promotional stratergies:

1. Share on Social Media

Every time you publish a new blog post, make sure you share it on social media. If you don’t already have a community or Group on social media, it’s time to start develop one. Don’t just share your content once, you can continue sharing it in the future.

 

2. Build an Email List

 

Build an e-mail List of people with Sharing common interest as yours (Related to topic of your blog), you can send link of your blog to this list. These people may also share your content on social media, expanding your reach.
Tip: You can search these people on comments, like & share of other similar article & blogs.

3. Guest Post on Other Blogs

There’s one another way you can tap into someone else’s audience. Publish a blog post right on their blog. Guest posting is a great way to get traffic back to your own blog. Write a blog post that is both relevant to the audience and relevant to your subject matter, with a link of your own detailed blog. 


4. Comment on Other Blogs

You can also use blog commenting to build relationships with other bloggers, and get in front of their audience. By a relevant & valuable comment you can get some serious audience who love to follow you as well.


5. Participate in Forums

Another place you can go offsite to promote your blog is forums. There are many forums where people interested to talk about specific topics. Similar to blog commenting, by participating in forum and putting your point of view, you can draw attention to yourself and your blog. 


6. Answer Questions on Quora

Quora is a place to ask and answer questions. Search quora for topics related to your blog post. When possible, answer questions and include a link back to your blog post for more in-depth advice.


7. Run a Contest

Running a contest is a great way to promote your blog. You can use a tool like Rafflecopter which helps you to host the contest right on your website or blog page. There are many ways you can get entries including blog comments, social shares, and email list signups. All will either drive traffic now or build your community so you can drive traffic later.


8. Post on Reddit

There is a huge community on Reddit that loves to spend time on  topic of interest. Find subreddits related to your blog post topic and start taking part. When you have a new blog post to promote, share it in a relevant subreddit. Start an interesting or helpful discussion, dp not just drop a link.
 

9. Be Active in Facebook Groups

Facebooks Groups are another excellent place to promote content. You’re need to be member of some Facebook groups related to your topic of interest. When you will read what people are saying, give you a good idea of what to write about & you’ll have an well set audience when you share your completed work. 


10. Acknowledging People

As a blog owner, it is easy to get stuck into a one-way flow. You talk and you imagine some anonymous number of people out there listening.

Communication is two way process. As per as blog is concern
  • You get people to talk back to you.
  • When they talk to you, you always acknowledge them.
Be an active part of the conversation wherever it happens to take place. If it isn’t on your blog comments, fine. Wherever it does happen, be there. To get people talking to you, you should ask questions, ask them to reply. Simply start conversations
